Day 1Our Tour

 In this  private trip, we will take you to Wadi El Natrun which is located about 120 km west long from Cairo. During the trip, you won’t stop gazing at every thing in this ancient valley which is the birthplace of Christian monasticism. This is the original place to many cloisters at which we find the awe-inspiring architecture and Coptic art. we will visit the 4 main monasteries which are:Deir Anba Bishoi, Anba Makaryus Monastery, El-Suryan Monastery.

At 8:00 am ,departure from Cairo by private air-conditioned vehicle, heading to Wadi El-Natrun to visit:

Monastery of the Romans (Deir El-Baramus in Egyptian). One of the oldest sites in the district with five churches. According to lore , it is said that two Roman vicars who fleed the persecution of Christians had lived in this valley and founded this cloister there.

Syrian Monastery (Deir El-Suryanis in Egyptian). This monastery was named according to the Syrian monks who had lived in this place in the 8th century. There is the Church of the Virgin Mary with its superb murals

Monastery of St. Bishoi (Deir Anba Bishoi in Egyptian). This monastery holds the name of the patron saint Bishoi who lived alone in this place. It contains five churches, the main one is Saint Bishoi where his body reposes. It also has two fascinating oratory.
